Antex is registered as a member of WWF's led initiative GFTN-Indonesia (member number T 321007).
GFTN is an organization of WWF, formed to eliminate illegal logging and improve the management of threatened forests.
In becoming a member of GFTN, Antex is producing the furniture that at the same time:
- conserves the world's forests
- supports sustainable forest management
- uses 'good wood' - wood that has not been obtained by illegal logging, and
- increases the welfare of forest community
Antex is working together with IFTN (Indonesia Forest and Trade Network) and ensuring that Antex's products come from forests which are well managed, meaning they take into account environmental, social, and economic aspects.
Background
Antex Furniture is an established manufacturer and exporter of garden furniture based in Jepara, Central Java - Indonesia, and has been producing quality furniture since 1997. It is our aim to become the number one seller of garden furniture in Indonesia and around the world; we are currently concentrating on strengthening our exports, which already go to several countries in Europe and USA.

Teak (Tectona Grandis) originated in the southeast Asian countries such as Indonesia, especially Java is also called "King of Woods" as it is one of the hardest, strongest and most durable of all timbers. It can grows up to the height 30-40 m and lives to the age of 100 years. Teak is easily worked and has natural oils that make it suitable for use in exposed locations, where it is durable and hard even when not treated with oil or varnish. This yellowish-brown timber is also resistant to insects, fungus, termites, rot, moisture, warping and shrinking so that it is suitable use for garden furniture products.
